Independent Voters

Hi. Finally up and running. The longest journey begins with a single step. Step one completed. I’ve been figuring out how to create an online presence and start a blog/discussion site for the last few months, after thinking about doing it for the last couple years. I still have a lot to do and figure out and tweak on the site over the next few weeks so things may not all work for awhile yet. After watching politics and the government in general deteriorate and get more and more dysfunctional over the last couple decades, I like most Americans have become increasingly frustrated with the state of our union. I try and do my part and vote and try to convince everyone to vote, but for some reason large % of citizens who are eligible to vote wont even register to vote, and that has been that way for the better part of a century, but since the 1980’s registration does seem to be increasing slightly but still only about 55% of citizens that are of voting age actually show up to vote on election day. So in a country of population of about 325 million people, and about 65 million are under 18 yrs old, that leaves about 260 million citizens of voting age. We have been getting around 130 million voters for the presidential elections and less for the non presidential election years. But one major thing that has changed starting in the 1980’s and continuing at a steady brisk pace is that the amount of voters choosing not to enroll with either of the 2 major parties. Today in 2017 the independent voters have reached an all time high of 45% of voters at the expense of the democratic party down to 30% and the republican party down to 25% of registered voters.

So when you here these people in positions of power in washington saying the people want this and the people want that, and the people have spoken and said they want us to do this policy or make this law its simply not true. Most of whats been going on in washington the past 40 yrs has been about the rich and powerful groups maneuvering for power and control over this country and also power on the world stage. They have not been administering to the affairs of the nation and leading us forward into a better more prosperous future for all citizens. They make laws that favor the big corporations and the super wealthy. When your taking 33% from the citizen making 20,000 or 40,000 or 60,000 and saying that’s how it is everyone has to pay their part to make the country work,which is fine and I agree we all have to do our part and we are stronger and better off for it all working together for the common cause. But when your in the lower income brackets and struggling to get by and pay your bills and trying to enjoy life a little and not have to work 60 hr weeks just to stay afloat and you have to hear how the people making millions who already use the loopholes to not pay any where near 30% of what they earn, need a tax break down to 15% and they wont even end up paying that much, so they can create a few 8$ hr jobs for you to work 70 hrs a week and pay your 33% of that to taxes is insane. Giving the super rich a tax break which would mean the country bringing in 1 TRILLION to 2 TRILLION less in taxes when we are 20 TRILLION  ( Update we are now 36 Trillion in debt as of early 2025 ) in debt because of the wealthy pillaging the wealth of our nation the last 40 yrs. And at a time when we need infrastructure, which has been neglected even tho there was money set aside that dwindles and disappears and never gets done what's supposed to and kick the can down the road to the next generation.

Which brings me to the purpose for starting this blog. We need to organize and and stop these insane policy’s that say you have to give the super wealthy more money so they can trickle it down to the lower classes and manipulate our society. Things are getting out of control with cancer running rampant from man made chemicals being dumped in our environment the last 100 yrs or more, and now the government is eliminating what few rules and protections we the people have from big corporations that don’t care. The people running these companies and making these laws don’t have to live and breath and drink this pollution like the majority of Americans do. They can buy a 1000 acres of pristine land any where in the world and build their mansions. This war of misinformation and lies and propaganda to achieve their agenda is getting out of hand. These are the tactics of countries that are enemies of one another or corporation vs corporation. The wealthy and the political parties should not be treating the American citizens as their enemies purposefully misinforming us, lying to us, deceiving us for their own personal agendas. They have tabloids, radio stations and television stations that out right lie and deceive and put out misinformation on a daily basis and say that its ok and normal to conduct themselves and business like that because lying isn’t illegal. If these people and entities would have conducted themselves like this in the 50’s in the post ww2 era they would have been arrested and not allowed to do business or hold positions of power at the very least.

Back to the voting situation, obviously with 130 million citizens not even registering to vote and 45% of those that do register to vote being independent, that’s 75% of the adult population of this country saying that what the people want is not what either of the 2 major political parties wants or is doing. They just have their zombie voters walking in and voting party lines without thinking for themselves and paying attention and educating themselves about whats going on in the world from the past to the present. Those who don’t learn from history and their mistakes are doomed to repeat them. The problem is most people who would make a good leader and or problem solver don’t even want to be part of the corrupt devious circus our government has become. So we vote and try and put the lesser of the 2 evils in office and hope for the best. I usually vote,like I think a lot of us do, to try and keep one party from having total control like is happening now to try and keep the checks and balances in play as much as possible. But it's out of control now, saying that the party in power doesn’t investigate itself, but we will say we are just to say we did after we said we wouldn’t and realizing how authoritarian they are acting like because they have complete power and are basically untouchable right now. So we the people can't be sure of anything that’s going on within our own government because the people working for us have been outright lying, deceiving and spending 10's of millions $ on a misinformation campaign targeted at the people they work for, how patriotic is that? LOL.

With 45% of the voters independent, which I believe are the better informed and less easily deceived just for the fact that they chose not to register with either of the 2 major parties and pay attention and don’t just vote like a drone, that we are the defacto 3rd major party and the biggest voter base of the 3 we have the power to bring major change to the political system if we organize, discuss what's going on and try and come up with some solutions to some of the problems facing our nation, and then apply pressure with the power of the vote to initiate change and lead this nation in a direction that benefits and improves the lives of all Americans. That was the basic plan for hundreds of years in America, to leave a better country and situation to the next generation and keep building on it. But the last 50 yrs have been about the few at the top and in power abusing the position the people granted them to lead and instead they have used it for their own selfish agendas instead of moving this nation of 325 million people forward they stalled it out and is in danger of stagnating and possibly taking a step back if we enter another depression with 20 TRILLION ( Update we are now 36 Trillion in debt as of early 2025 ) in debt looming over us. America has no other America to bail us out if things go bad like we bail out the countries of the world when their in dire straits. Russia and China will not come to our aid if we falter, they will finish us off and divvy up the pieces into their new world empire. So we cannot afford to wavier, if they smell blood our country could be in serious jeopardy within the next 25 to 50 yrs, it's a fast paced small world and things can happen on the drop of a dime.

I have some basic ideas and plans on how we can turn the dreams into reality. To create a tool to organize the independents, and hopefully get some of the 100 million people that don’t vote to get involved and organized so all the sacrifices of the Americans that came before us, and gave us this opportunity and situation that no one else on planet earth has, can be developed and realized to its fullest potential instead of being bogged down and pilfered. It's not going to be an easy task but I have to try and do something things are just heading in the wrong direction for far to long we need to turn things around for the next generation and not leave them in worse place than the country is in now which is the direction its heading in with no leadership in this country. I’m going to do some more research and create something to monitor what our government votes on and who votes for what, and other things along that line to better inform voters on some facts so they can make better informed decisions. So like i said at the beginning of this post I’m still figuring this website blog thing out and will be improving, tweaking and building off of this starting point and trying to make a difference for the better for the United States of America. UPDATE be aware that as of Jan 20 2025 when Trump administration officialy sworn in and in control of executive branch of USA government they have immediately started deleting factual information from government sites ( .gov ) that contradict their narative such as - DEI purge delete non-whites like Jackie Robinson, Tuskegee airmen, Navajo code talkers, Enola Gay aircraft that dropped first atomic bomb because of the word gay, information on vaccines, Tracking virus spread in USA that doctors rely on to treat patients, anything about climate change, anything about green energy (solar,windmills), WW2 Holocaust and Nazis, and on and on as their belief is if they delete it then it is not true and it never happened.

UPDATE March 2025 Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services orders CDC staff not to release news and information on measles outbreak, other virus outbreaks and not to recommend vaccination. Also Kennedy fires top scientists and others resign like top vaccine official Dr. Peter Marks who wrote that undermining confidence in vaccines is irresponsible and a danger to public health and " It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies" , "This man doesn't care about the truth. He cares about what is making him followers."

PLEASE educate yourself and understand what is true and factual so you know when you are being lied to as this is extremely important when you make decisions affecting your life, our lives, our country and our planet.
